Makerspace Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Reports directly to the Centre Director
    • Works directly with the Head of Makerspace / STEAM Programming 
  • Provides administrative leadership in planning, developing, implementation, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of the Innovative International Student Centres’ Makerspace Program
    • Coordinates and manages activities, courses, and thematic workshop events, and organizes space in the Makerspace Rooms
    • Develops a learning path, and adjust the teacher's teaching plan as necessary for the Makerspace Program
    • Develops training programs, materials, teacher training, and training projects for  teachers of the Makerspace Program 
  • Works directly with the Head of Makerspace / STEAM Programming in the planning, developing, and implementation of the Makerspace Program
  • Supports the research and development of Makerspace education solutions -  including implementation plans and new course design as well as other professional issues for the Innovative International Student Centres
  • Works with the Centre Director to estimate operational costs and forecast the equipment/supplies necessary to facilitate the Makerspace Program
  • Manage the procurement and maintenance of all the Makerspace equipment and components at the Innovative International Student Centres
  • Teaching responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to): Makerspace workshops/courses and Makerspace classes
  • Support PR-Marketing events/promotions to enhance the enrollment of students into the Innovative International Student Centres
    • Works with the Head of Makerspace / STEAM Programming to help Innovative International Student Centre students gain entry into relevant competitions and conferences 
  • Through the Innovative International Student Centres’ Makerspace Programming, the Makerspace Coordinator fosters skills such as teamwork, personal excellence, discipline, dedication, commitment, focus, organization, time management, and leadership - which are the same tools needed in our student’s everyday lives
  • Works with the Centre Director and Asst. Centre Director to troubleshoot any emerging issues with the Makerspace Program

Position requirements:

  • Undergraduate Degree in relative field
  • Educational Certificates and/or Experience in relative field
    • Specifically in a Makerspace environment
  • Makerspace Expertise

Working Conditions:

Working hour: Mon-Fri (8AM - 5PM); Sat (8AM – 12 PM)
