Global Competencies

We provide our students with the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes that they will need to become lifelong learners, to understand issues of global interdependence and to be active global citizens. The Ontario curriculum advocates the integration of Dr. Michael Fullan’s work on the “6 Cs”. Global competencies are meant to prepare students for a complex and unpredictable future with rapidly changing political, social, economic, technological, and ecological landscapes.

The global competencies build on CIS’s commitment to Character Education and the IB Learner Profile.  Teachers are taking the next steps in incorporating them into the written curriculum and teaching and learning.
