Position Objective

Facilitate, promote and enhance the participation in sports and activities for all students as an integral part of the overall educational experience offered at CISS

  • The Athletics / Activities Program vigorously supports the academic mission of our schools by striving to provide students with opportunities for physical, mental, emotional, and social development through sports and activities
  • The Athletics Program promotes interscholastic athletics that provide lifelong learning experiences while enhancing students’ achievement of educational goals. The skills taught in sports - teamwork, personal excellence, discipline, dedication, commitment, focus, organization, time management, and leadership - are the same tools needed in everyday life

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the EQuest Athletics Director to provide administrative leadership in planning, implementation, coordination, supervision and evaluation of
    • The Wolves Athletics Program
      • Approximately three 10-week seasons per year
      • U9 / U11 / U13/ U15 / U19 Boys & Girls Teams
      • Badminton, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball
      • Inner-school student-athlete recruitment
      • Inner-school coaching recruitment
    • CIS / BCIS After-School Clubs Program
      • Twice per week / roughly 3:00-4:00pm / 12 weeks per semester
      • Kindergarten - Grade 12 teachers and students
    • CIS / BCIS House Systems
      • Act as the staff advisor for the CIS and BCIS House Councils
      • House Days
      • House Challenges
  • Act as the CISS representative at SISAC (Saigon International Schools Athletic Conference)
    • Handle all fees related to SISAC membership and referees
    • Coordinate with fellow AD’s for friendlies, league games, playoffs, and tournaments
    • Meet with fellow AD’s as necessary for committee meetings
  • Work with the CIS / BCIS Leadership Teams on timetabling the allocation of space for physical education classes, after-school club activities, and Wolves Athletics activities
  • Coordinate the communication between all of the different departments and relevant parties of the schools as it pertains to all aspects co-curricular programming
    • Admin, Teachers, Parents, Students, May Cafe, Maintenance, Security, Cleaning Staff, Busing Staff, Operations Manager, ASO, Admissions, Marketing, Student-Led Councils and the Purchasing Dept.
  • Oversees all inventory related to Athletics, HPE, After-School Clubs, and the House System
    • Responsible for ordering, organizing, distributing, and collecting all relevant and necessary supplies/equipment for co-curricular programming
  • Work with the CIS Athletics Council to facilitate the Annual Terry Fox Run for CIS & BCIS staff and Students
  • Work with the CIS Athletics Council to facilitate home games where applicable
  • Be the point person for the planning, organizing, and coordination of the Annual CISS Athletics Banquet for all student-athletes and coaches from CIS and BCIS - coordinate with the CIS Athletics Council for various aspects of this
  • Promotes co-curricular activities that provide lifelong learning experiences while enhancing students’ achievement of educational goals
  • Through co-curricular programming, the CISS Athletics Director / Activities Coordinator fosters skills such as teamwork, personal excellence, discipline, dedication, commitment, focus, organization, time management, and leadership - which are the same tools needed in our student’s everyday lives
  • Troubleshoots any emerging issues pertaining to the CISS Athletics / Activities Program
  • Displays interpersonal skills and professionally navigates challenging situations

Position requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree in a relative field (Education and/or Sports related are preferable)
  • Educational Certificates and/or Experience in a relative field (Preferably Sports, Education, Business, and/or Management)
  • Background in competitive sports - both playing and coaching is preferred
  • Proven ability to manage human and financial resources
