LOTUSHACKS 2026 - VIETNAM’S LARGEST AI HACKATHON FOUNDED BY CIS STUDENTS

News 03/04/2026

LotusHacks 2026 brought together more than 1,500 developers and tech enthusiasts from nearly 30 countries for a 36-hour build at the competition. As one of the largest student-led AI hackathons in Vietnam, the event was supported by CIS and global technology partners, including OpenAI, AWS, ByteDance, and VNG, with a total prize pool and benefits approaching $1 million.

Behind it all is a team of high school students — including H. Bách (Sonic), a Grade 11 student at CIS and founder of LotusHacks, and Q. Đan (Vanessa), a Grade 9 student and co-founder. What started as an idea in October 2025 has grown into an international collaboration, including a partnership with HackHarvard.

As a sponsoring partner of LotusHacks 2026, CIS served as the starting point of the event - hosting participants for early workshops and check-in before they moved to VNG Campus. The check-in was led by CIS students, with close support from our school staff, setting the stage for the three-day hackathon that followed. LotusHacks 2026 may have come to a close, but the story behind it is just getting started. Sonic’s journey will be shared very soon.
