LEARNING THROUGH HANDS-ON EXPERIENCES: CIS STUDENTS EXPLORE FORCES AND MOTION

News 25/05/2026

Recently, CIS Grade 3 students enjoyed an exciting day at Tinker Play, where outdoor activities and hands-on experiences brought their “Forces & Motion” unit to life in a meaningful and engaging way.

Through movement-based challenges, balanced bike races, and creative play activities, students explored how pushing, pulling, and motion work in the world around them.

As part of their “Forces” unit, CIS Grade 5 students visited a local neighbourhood park to explore these scientific concepts through real-world observation and hands-on experiences in a familiar everyday environment.

By observing playground structures, analysing movement, and discussing their ideas with teachers and peers, students developed a deeper understanding of pushing and pulling forces, gravity, balance, and structural load in design. More than just a field trip, the experience helped students connect classroom learning with the real world while encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and a more scientific way of looking at the world around them.
