EMBRACING CONNECTION: FIRST SECONDARY PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE UNFOLDS A HEARTWARMING STORY!
On November 11, the Canadian International School (CIS) painted a vibrant picture of connection during the inaugural Secondary Parent-Teacher Conference Day for the 2023-2024 school year. The event witnessed the heartfelt participation of Secondary Principal, Ms. Melissa Susan O'Leary, along with dedicated Secondary teachers and approximately over 300 parents and students from grades 9 to 12.
Gathered in the school library, today's meeting was a testament to the active engagement of parents. Guided by Secondary CIS-ers, parents had the opportunity for face-to-face interactions with subject-specific teachers. These dedicated educators provided one-on-one advice, give insights into each student's strengths, weaknesses, and overall academic progress. In addition, for a few "special" students, parents can meet and discuss directly with Ms. Melissa, who personally guides and suggests effective learning plans for their children.
The main topic that most parents are interested in at this meeting is career orientation, how to identify and unleash their child's potential. In addition, studying abroad at the university level also attracts the attention of many families. The school has specially prepared a Study Abroad Consulting counter, where there are always School Counseling teachers on duty to answer all parents' questions about choosing a school, choosing a major as well as advising on study abroad applications. .
Overall, the first Secondary Parents' Meeting of the 2023-2024 school year took place successfully, not only offering parents a holistic view of their child's journey at CIS but also equipped them to understand current challenges, fostering support through crucial transitional phases in the future.
Should questions arise or advice be sought regarding their child's education, the CIS teacher team stands ready!
