Position Objective

Khoi Nguyen Education Group is urgently looking for a Deputy ICT Manager (6-8 years working experience in international schools and school services) join our IT Team at the Head Office.
The Deputy ICT Manager will co-orporate with the ICT Manager to lead the IT team of KNE (including its schools and companies https://www.khoinguyenholdings.edu.vn/), manages IT budget, organises and administers the information technology (IT) systems including ERP system, data systems, infrastructure, hardware, software, and all IT equipment. The successful candidate should perform full range of duties, including but not limited to:


1. Leadership:

• Develop and implement IT strategic plan for schools, companies, and projects, including suggestion and selection of appropriate IT system, infrastructure, hardware, software and apps for school and companies.
• Provide the overall leadership and visionary direction for IT in all areas of technology for the schools/companies’ operation, including IT development, planning and strategic planning.
• Collaborate with the related stakeholders such as Leadership/Management Team, OMs, IT teachers in developing, reviewing and integrating IT standards, benchmarks and proficiencies in the company’s operation system, learning and teaching practices, as articulated in curriculum unit plans.

• Oversee inventory of all ICT assets; and serve as a resource to staff to determine hardware/software compatibility, to evaluate computer software, multi-media, telecommunications, and other technology resources to determine curricular applications, and to learn how to use and integrate computer/technology equipment and software applications to enhance business activities, learning and teaching.
• Assist with providing for positive public information about the school’s technology programmes and initiatives through conferences, workshops, seminars, newspaper articles and technology associations.
• Assist with the recruitment, development, assignment and evaluation of IT staff; assign technology staff priorities and activities whilst overseeing the completion of tasks/projects assigned by the BOD.

2.  IT Budget Management:

• Consult with the BOD, Leadership/Management Team, line managers to define equipment needs leading to the preparation of the whole company/school IT department, and company/schoolwide IT capital and operational budgets.
• Be responsible for all the IT proposals, tenders and contract documentation for IT purchases and projects to the BOD.
• Manage the purchasing and support contracts for all company/schoolwide software licenses.

3. IT Systems Management:

• Provide management and direction for the construction, installation, implementation and development of all company/school IT hardware and software projects and systems.
• Supervise the management, implementation and ongoing development of administrative and instructional software systems for companies, schools, projects.
• Oversee the IT Team’s supervision and inspection of work performed by outside IT contractors for all hardware and software systems, and verifies that the contract terms have been fulfilled.
• Manage the maintenance and support contracts for all company/schoolwide hardware systems, including servers, switches, UPS, firewall, data backup systems.
• Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan layout for the type of computers and peripheral equipment, or modifications to existing equipment and systems, that will provide the capability for new or upgraded networks, while maintaining an efficient operation and effective use of space.
• Develops with the systems team and maintains records for the company/school’s IT systems including blueprints, plans, specifications, contracts, bids, hardware inventory, software license inventory and other pertinent information relative to IT hardware and software systems.
• Complete related reports of computer and peripheral equipment use, malfunction, and maintenance to ascertain costs and plan operating changes to the BOD.
• Manage the planning and implementation of security and Anti-Virus systems for IT hardware and software systems.
• Be responsible for the management, implementation, ongoing development, preventative maintenance, repair, and work order scheduling programme for the school’s IT hardware and software systems, including server hardware and software systems; data, video and voice network cabling and switches; telephone cabling, PBX, handsets, messaging and configuration; PC client and printer systems.

• Provide IT training courses to staff in the best use of technology when requested – develop and coordinate on-going IT professional development programs to support the integration of IT into ERP system, and learning and teaching practices, as articulated in curriculum unit plans based on knowledge of identified training needs.
• Stay up-to-date with new hardware, software and upgrades and encourages staff experimentation.
• Serve as an instructional consultant by working with staff in the school and classroom.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the BOD.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in ICT with international ICT certifications.
• At least 8-10 years of ICT managerial experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Sound working knowledge and experience in Vietnam Technology laws, regulations and practices of K-12 education and school services.
• Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of technology, ERP and IT systems.
• Ability to develop IT strategic plan both long and short term training programmes.
• Model and support the effective integration of technology in the classroom and projects.
• Display competency with administrative and instructional applications of technology.
• Use multi-media equipment and applications, basic software applications and common operating systems.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of hardware components and their functions.
• Possess the ability to implement new technologies.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of fundamental network design and common network operating systems.
• Develop appropriate training materials for school personnel.
