Waterloo Math Contest (April 7)

Is Competition a fun way for you to develop math problem solving skills?  Then join the fun! CISS is offering the final round of math contests for this school year.

1. Euclid Math Contest (Grade 12)

Contest Date: April 7, 2017

Registration Deadline: March 20, 2017

Registration Fee: 400.000 VND (CIS, BCIS, AES), 430.000 VND (external students)

This is the premier math contest and from the results there will be scholarships offered to Math Programs at the University of Waterloo. The 10 questions require 2.5 hours to complete with some short answer and some long answer solutions. Although based on secondary math curricula, the final questions will test the quality of the best students in the world. Come join the other 19,000 students who write worldwide.

2. The Fryer (Grade 9), Galois (Grade 10) and Hypatia (Grade 11) contests

Contest Date: April 13, 2017

Registration Deadline: March 17, 2017

Registration Fee: 270.000 VND (CIS, BCIS, AES), 300.000 VND (external students)

Unlike the Pascal, Cayley and Fermat multiple choice contests just completed on 1 March, marks will be awarded for form and style of presentation. This contest 4 questions and will take 75 minutes to complete.

3. The Gauss (Grade 7-8) contests

Contest Date: May 11, 2017

Registration Deadline: April 14, 2017

Registration Fee: 100.000 VND (CIS, BCIS, AES), 130.000 VND (external students)

The Gauss contest for Grades 7 & 8 students as well as any interested students from the lower grades will be composed of 25 multiple choice questions lasting 60 minutes.
